There are literally no words to describe. How I would feel if I were in a situation. I would feel all types of emotions. I would be scared, angry, confused, dumbfounded, bold, calm and most of shocked. I would be wondering why was this happening to me. What did I do to deserve this. I would be pouring tears. I wonder what my family what think or do. It's crazy because I never imagining this happening.

What's are your goals in life, what do you want to do?

Well first you can't get a good job without a Good education. I plan on graduating high school and going to Allen university to get my masters bachelors and associates in social science so I can teach history. I've always wanted to go to school to become a teacher. I also plan on having a job through out college so I can support myself as well as getting my self through college. I'm a hard-worker so I think ill do just fine.

What are some modern conveniences do you take for granted?

In my home I take electricity for granted. I always have a light on or the air or heat on with the door open. I'm constantly on my phone and not paying attention to anything else. I watch a lot of television  and music.

In what ways do people today still struggle with tensions between individuality and conformity?

There are some people that goes along with the crowd and some people who separates themselves from the rest of the group. Tensions between individuality and conformity comes from doing something for you vs doing something for yourself. A person that conforms wouldn't be a transcendentalist because he or she is only trying to please themselves for selfish reasons. A person that's an indival would be a transcendentalist because he or she helps other people for good reasons.

Individuality is what separates you from everyone else.

In what ways do individuals make a difference in our society?

We help people in need. We get them jobs, help them find a home. An education. We help the environment get better by picking up trash, donating to charities, cleaning up parks, etc. We protect people by making laws. We have certain people in charge so if anything was to happen we would know what to do.

How much power do formal institutions (church, govt., etc) have in our society?

The government and church have a good bit of power in society bc the government regulates what we do. They make sure we are safe, we have education, housing, food. They make sure we have they materials to survive. They church keeps us out of trouble and in touch with god.

What happens if you become too determined?

If you become to determined you can easily over think things. Obsession, hesitation and the ability to see the difficulties can also come from being too determined. Your energy would be low and you wouldn't be able too focus on the task at hand. That's why you shouldn't over think things and cause yourself unnecessary stress.

Why do we fear what we don't know?

If something bad happens we want to know. If something good happens we want to know. Either way we want to know. We fear what we don't know because we have never heard about it. Ever heard the saying don't let history repeat itself. Well it's the same concept. If we knew of the bad thing we wouldn't let it happen again. That's why we want to know everything so we don't have to fear the unknown.

Why do people hear voices in the woods?

There is no real answer as to why people here voices in the woods because every one is different. It could be a medical reason as to why they here voices or it could just be fear. We don't know what triggers another persons fear. The mind plays tricks on people. You just have to be one step ahead.

What do you think is the most important quality of gothic literature?

I think that it's the ability to shock and frighten. Any story can be a good story but does it pull you out of your seat. It should not only grab your attention but also leave you with a feeling of  wanting more. 

Do you agree that It is darkness within us all?

Yes I agree that it's darkness within us all. How could there not be. There can't be good with out evil. There is good in everyone until they get to their breaking point. Who knows what will happen then.  The Devil was once an angel so there is darkness in everyone.

Why can dreamlike settings be powerful in literature form?

The mind plays tricks on us. They make things seem real when they are not. Power words and actions can also play a role in making things dreamlike. In literature power words create scenes that are very surreal but isn't true. I think that your state of mind can affect that.

What if a secret is kept too long?

It depends on the situation , because it could be a good thing or a bad thing. For instance if someone told you that they wanted to hurt them self and told you too keep it a secret and a few months down the line they killed themselves and it could have been prevented if you would have told someone. Or if someone stole something that was really needed and that person died because of it. You could have told someone and the world could've put one more bad person away.

Greedy behavior

I have experienced a lot of greedy behaviors. For one instance when I was working over the summer I had this coworker that was very greedy. What every this person had they had to have more. We get food free being that we worked with the concessions. So that person would eat and then get more and more food. Then take bags full of food home. I can't be the one to judge but that person took advantage of something and it wasn't right.

My life is a value I would stand up for.  Without life I'm nothing. I wouldn't even be alive but I love and appreciate what I have and what I work for and I wouldn't wan that tooken away from me. I live life everyday like it was my last. I can't take anything for granted because nothing is promised. I could die in the next few minutes but I have faith and I will fight for my life

Good effective speech

What makes a good effective speech?
Reasoning , confidence and effort makes an effective speech. I say that because you have to be confident in order to sound good , look good and make the people think that you can take anything. Reasoning is the main thing because you don't just go into a speech talking about something and don't  know why your talking about it. You don't only convince them but also yourself as to why you choose what you chose. And lastly effort. Nothing works unless you try. You can do something for a minute and say it's too hard. It takes time and patience.

Persuasion techniques

I find reasoning particularly effective. In commercials you have bribery, bandwagon, snob appeal, plain folk, etc. Then there is reasoning. The animal commercials they use reasoning . They don't bribe you and it's for a good cost. Other commercials use you and try to take something away from you .

Speech

The most memoriable speech I heard was Martin Luther king jr's speech I have a dream. Every time I hear it I get motivation and I feel like I can do anything. There's a line in there and it says that we must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. I think he's telling us that we will never grow as a nation if we don't make mistakes.
